| | The Garmin is driving my husband crazy! | | Actually, he's driving himself crazy about the garmin.We bought the garmin last summer, mostly for our trip out west. We were going to be renting a car and driving quite a bit so we thought it would be better than taking a dozen internet map directions with us. We also do drive around a lot to new places so it was a pretty good idea to get it anyways.Well, when we first got it, my husband didn't want to put the little suction cup thing on the windshield because he decided that "advertised" that we had the garmin and people would break in our car to steal it. I tried to tell him that you can leave the suction cup in there, but take the garmin out - which we don't leave in the car once we've gotten where we're going, he even has to put it in the glove box when we are at a restaraunt to eat - or you can take the whole suction cup thing off with windshield too. | | Our Garmin took us on "The Trail" | | This past weekend, we went to Colonial Williamsburg, it's about a 3 1/2 hour drive for us. We weren't exactly sure where we were going so of course we took the Garmin to lead us.Now, we drive most of the way without any help from the Garmin, but after a while we were at it's mercy. When it said to turn, we had to have faith that we were headed in the right direction. Well, at one point it said "Turn left onto the trail" and we all kinda freaked a bit. We weren't sure exactly what "the trail" was and we were hoping to not be driving down some dilapitated dirt road. As we were driving, I did double check and make sure we had the "No off road" part checked.As it turned out, the name of the street was "The Trail". We were so relieved - even though it was a back road, it was still a real road! | |

| garmin gps | | hello all! i bought my hubby a garmin 350 gps navigational system for christmas. i was wondering if any of you out there own one and how you like it? i did a bunch of research before buying and this particular one seemed to get great reviews, but i always like finding out as much as i can. any thoughts? | |
| | Garmin, TomTom, Magellen???? | | OK, I need some input (quickly) for a GPS system. We're looking at them and would like to have it by this weekend. My husband wants the Garmin because his son said that's the best. They all looked the same, and in our price range they all seem to do the same thing. | | Why wont my Garmin Nuvi 200W base stick on my dashboard? | | Hi i just bought a brand new garmin nuvi 200W and tried it out for the first time and everything went well.
I try it a second time and something happed to the stickey tape on the bottom of the dash board holder for the GPS because it wont stick at all now. It looks like a small circle of sticky tape on the base and after i used the GPS the first time i replaced the small circular cover that is supposed to protect the stick surface.......i removed the protective cover the 2'nd time i used the GPS base and it wont stick to the dashboard at all.
Does anyone know what i may have done wrong?

i will pick a best answertting the Garmin on our dash in this little ridged part and sometimes it leans up there ok so you can see it, but most of the time it doesn't. This weekend, we went to his cousins house and the whole way up there and the whole way home he's fiddling with this thing on the dash trying to get it to stand up right so he can see it all the time. He's taking his wallet and trying to wedge it up there so it'll brace it - didn't work. He's trying to angle it this way and that - didn't work. I'm just letting it go because he's being stupid. | Do you have a GPS system in your car? | | As some of you mylot-ers may know, I am moving out of state soon to a very metropolitan area. I am a little worried about finding my way around and have been thinking about getting a GPS thing to keep in my car. I don't know anyone who has one, so I'm lookng for some advice from some people who do.>w<
Is it worth it to buy one?
Do you have to pay for service (like cell phones) for them, or do they work on their own?
and If you think I should get one, which do you reccomend?
